Pediatrician Report: Month Two.

At Windsor's 2-month checkup yesterday, the doctor confirmed what we knew was true: this baby is massive.

He weighs 15 pounds, 2 oz....which puts him in the 96th percentile.

He is 25 1/4 inches tall....which puts him in the 97th percentile.

His head is 42.3 cm around....which puts him in the 92nd percentile.

(What I really need are some collectable, baby baseball cards with a picture of Windsor on the front and all his stats on the back. But I guess this blog will have to do.)

So! Big baby! At least he is proportional. It would be weird if he had a little scrawny head sitting on top of his big long body.

Other than the measurements, Win has met all his developmental milestones and then showed off for the doctor by smiling and delivering a monologue about how the doctor should consider reducing his carbon imprint.

He also had to get his first round of shots, which he was not impressed with, but a really good thing about having super chunky thighs is that there's a lot of meat for those mean needles to sink into. So far he hasn't had any bad reactions, not even a slight fever, and his appetite was huge all day. He even slept for 5 hours straight! This means we all slept for 5 hours straight. Bless this child.

Happy Two Month Birthday!

Can you believe it? Yesterday Windsor turned two months old. He celebrated by going to his favorite place, Target. (Seriously, one day he will be in therapy trying to figure out why he dreams of red bullseyes and the smell of stale popcorn.)

The smiling, cooing, and talking are not reserved for just his parents; Win spends a good deal of time spreading the love to his babies on his mobile:

He has also started squealing a little, like invisible fingers are pinching him. It kind of freaks me out a little, but he seems to enjoy it.

He has also grown considerably since his one-month birthday. Not only does he weigh around 16 pounds (we'll get the official weight/height tomorrow at our doctor's appointment), but he wears 3-6 month onesies and 6-9 month t-shirts. He's also graduated to size 3 diapers (y'all, he's big). Here is the big boy wearing his big boy overalls; we were on the way to the library to take care of a little business and he needed to look extra adorable in order to meet my coworkers:

The Thinker.

Windsor's been thinking long and hard about some things lately. The problem is, he won't tell me what they are. I can only assume he has solved the nation's energy crisis. I'm pretty sure that's what he's thinking about here.

This Charming Man.

Our chubster was being particularly charming this afternoon while Jeff was home for lunch:

Cute!

Windsor's New Trick.

Look, we're smiling! This is not the biggest smile Win has flashed this weekend, but it's the best one I was able to capture. There is also cooing and giggling to accompany this face. The word "cute" just doesn't cut it!

Whistle While You Work.

I enjoy Win's can-do attitude here. He would be great as a hardscrabble orphan in a musical set in the '30s, don't you think?

More Hair, More Photos!

By popular demand, here is another picture of Windsor's hair. Right after bathtime is the best time for hilarious curly action. Right after this photo was taken, I tried blowdrying his hair, which he tolerated way better than the cat ever did. However, getting a blowout totally straightened his lovely curls, which can be admired here:

And here's Windsor looking cute and wide-eyed in his bassinet. You can tell that someone had been patting his head all day; notice he is looking a bit like a T-Bird and is in need of a bath:
