Christmas in Hollis, Windsor Style.

Did you know that Windsor loves Run-DMC?

The video turns to rightside-up pretty quickly. You only have to turn your head sideways for a few seconds.

I like the spinning the best.

Photo Catchup.

I'm a little behind in posting, but hopefully this will catch you up.

A few weeks ago, we had snow! Kind of. For a few minutes. Windsor reluctantly played in it (along with the 10,000 leaves that fell off our trees).

The next day, it was still cold, so naturally he put on this cow costume and hung out outside.

A few weeks ago Windsor was trying hard to prove that he needs new toys for Christmas, so he sat on a bag of diapers and started beating on a cat food box with a piece of straw that fell out of the broom. Work it, Windsor!

I attempted to get a Christmas card picture out of Windsor sitting in a chair with his elephant friend. No dice.

Then they started wrasslin'.

Yesterday Windsor wore this cute outfit to school. Like his mother, he is destined for a life of highwaters.

Here he is after school yesterday drawing at his table.

I am in love with his homemade lamp. Also, his hair. Also, him.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Windsor had a big time Thanksgiving yesterday!

Windsor gave thanks for his puppy:

Then he had a big lunch:

Then he ran around with a bucket on his head -- as you do:

Then he took a stroll with his great-grandmother:

Then he performed an Olympics-worthy acrobatic routine featuring his chair:

Hope you all had a great day!

A Few Things to Remember.

Sorry, no pictures today, but I wanted to write a few things down.

The other night after I put lotion on him, Windsor swiped at his legs, then put his hand (coated in lotion) in his mouth. I made a yuck face and pretended to be spitting. He did the same. Now, whenever I change him, he swipes at his legs or tummy, puts his hand in his mouth, and pretends to spit. It is awesome.

Other things:
1. He can say, "Get down, Pete!" reasonably well.
2. All the time I thought he was saying "Reese" (the name of one of the boys in his class), he was saying "please"!
3. When Lulu barks, Windsor puts his finger on his nose and goes, "Ssssss." This is supposed to be shhhh. However, if Windsor is screaming with joy and I say "shh," it makes him scream more/louder. Heaven forbid I randomly say "shhh" when he's NOT screaming, as this will give him the bright idea to start screaming.
4. He tells Lulu to go night-night when she is being bad.
5. Favorite book? Hand, Hand, Fingers, Toes. He sleeps with it. This is not a problem unless it's nap time and he protests by banging the book on the wall.

It's Good for What Ails You.

Want to see a baby cracking up?

Fireman Windsor.

Yesterday Windsor got to jump around in a bouncy house for the first time. It was fun!

He also got to hang out on a fire truck in his fireman costume! How serendipitous!

Parade! And Stats.

Last Friday afternoon, Murrah High School had a parade through the neighborhood! All the cool neighborhood babies were there. Here's Windsor and his future bff Jasper:

Jasper looks innocent, but one day he and Windsor are going to get into big trouble together, I'm sure:

We saw the marching band and some dancers:

But Windsor was really impressed with two dogs that were across the street (not pictured):

In other news, Windsor turned 18 months last week, and on Monday he had his checkup. So it's time for stats!

Height: 33 3/4" (87%)
Weight: 27 lbs, 4 oz (68%)
Head size: 50.5 cm (uhhh..98%)

State Fair!

We went to the state fair on Saturday. Windsor thought it was ok.

Look, Windsor next to a turkey.

Windsor attempts to pet a crusty, flea-ridden donkey.

Windsor poses with some fake pumpkins on a hay bale.

Those carnies were loud.

Not shown: Windsor's mother eating a fried Snickers.

Horsie vs. Windsor.

We went to Oxford this weekend to see Mimi and Pops, and after a long nap in the car on the way home today, Windsor was all revved up. Apparently I was, too!

More Words.

Because I use this blog instead of a baby book (yeah, I know--one day I will transfer everything, I promise), here are some of the words Windsor can say that I either forgot to list before, or that he's added since I last reported:

uh-oh
hi
bye bye
more
mine
no

The last three are new. More, by the way, is phrased as a question ("mo?"). So polite. He's also saying "go," but I think it means "dog."

Tuesday.

Look at this adorable baby with his jeans, t-shirt, and new sneakers. This is officially my favorite look for Windsor.

A naked baby!

Fun at the Park.

On Saturday afternoon, we all went to Laurel Street Park. Windsor had a big time, especially on the whale...so much so that when a lady got too close to it, he thought she might want to get on and he told her NO really loudly.

Going down the slide with Dad:

Climbing back up the slide:

The beloved whale:

Don't get too close! That's HIS whale, people.

Now with Videos!

Hey, I'm late to the party, but I finally figured out how to upload videos here. It turns out you mash the button that looks like a movie and then ok yeah that's pretty much it.

I have heard that Windsor likes to climb on the dining room table, but I haven't seen it before. Note the triumphant laugh at the end.

The other afternoon Windsor was playing with his favorite toys -- cat food cans. Why we buy him toys is beyond me.

The Hair, It is Still Big.

It's been too long since I posted--hopefully these ten photos will make it up to you!
